Epibloc.1

External Fixator

Epibloc.1 is a device targeted at the treatment of distal radius fractures and proximal humerus fractures.

As an external fixator, this device allows for its bendable metallic wires’ percutaneous insertion through the medullary canal of the bone. Undeniably, Epibloc.1 must be considered as a smart and cost-effective solution that delivers outstanding results for fracture treatment.

It utilizes the principle of the elastic endo-medullary fixation where metal wires are inserted into the medullary canal, then bent and externally tensioned. Two wires are inserted into the fracture segment, aligned along the medullary canal, and bent to conform to the canal's shape.

Stabilization is achieved through a locking device (the plate) that holds the wires in position. The plate has a reduced size, making it less invasive and potentially more aesthetically acceptable for the patient.2 extra cross grooves on the plate allow the optional insertion of a third and fourth wire to stabilize and reduce more unstable fractures.
